AIR & WATER RESISTIVE BARRIE COATINGS FOR MISSION-CRITICAL FACILITIES
For mission-critical facilities, the facade is more than an exterior finish, it is part of the performance strategy. On a large data center facility outside of Los Angeles, the design team needed a durable, high-performance weather protection solution that could support a rapid construction schedule without compromising long-term performance.
Because server environments generate significant heat and depend on controlled indoor conditions, a continuous and reliable air and water barrier was essential. The building envelope needed to support indoor air quality, moisture protection, and long-term durability while integrating efficiently with panel fabrication and installation sequencing. To meet all of the project requirements, the project team applied Momentive Silicones for Building Elemax Air & Water- Resistive Barrier system to create a fully adhered, continuous silicone membrane across the structure’s facade. Elemax provides durable weatherproofing while maintaining vapor permeability for proper moisture management within the wall assembly.
